Where is the Occoquan Yacht Club?
Where you keep your boat is a home of the Occoquan Yacht Club (OYC). The Club, a 501c7 organization, has members in numerous marinas along the various rivers and tributaries of the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay as well as other states not within the DC, Maryland and Virginia region. OYC continues to grow its' group of friends since the Club's founding in 1983. If you are looking to expand your circle of boating enthusiasts who enjoy cruising the waterways, rafting up, hanging out on water and land, increasing boating knowledge and having fun, float over to the Club's membership application tab and complete the membership form.
Why Join?
To make boating an even more enjoyable part of your life! Enjoy cruises, raft-ups, social activities ashore and afloat, safety awareness, fun-filled competitions, prizes, and a touch of yachting protocol (without the posturing). For example:
Cruise Events:

Early Bird Cruise in April

Sunset anchorages and all-night raft-ups around the area at Mattawoman Creek, Fairview Beach and others.

Weekend cruises to Potomac River ports, including The Wharf, City of Alexandria, the Yards, Colonial Beach, Dennis Point as well as more locations.

Week-long cruises to the Chesapeake Bay with stops in St. Michaels, Baltimore, Annapolis, Solomons, VA Beach, Cambridge and Havre De Grace just to name a few.

How Do I Join?
By filling out the membership application on line.
The membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Upon acceptance of your application to join the club, you will be granted access to the members only section which is chocked full of information about the club and other informative content. Additionally, you will receive your burgee, membership card(s) and a recent edition of the club's acclaimed newsletter, The Daymarker. That's another good reason for joining OYC as you will regularly receive The Daymarker, a freshly written, irreverently amusing and informative newsletter that has become a must read in order to stay in the know!
